Contribute to the 101st Airborne Website
You have an opportunity to honor and preserve their legacies. Enlist today and serve.
When it was decided to create and launch this new website in order to honor the legacy of the 101st Airborne Division, I knew it would require the help of others.
As with any great military mission, you must have a great team in order to achieve any level of success. This project is no different.
So today I'm popping smoke – hoping to attract the attention of military enthusiasts interested in making this an awesome military resource today, as well as for future generations.
Lest we forget!
Five Ways to Contribute
101st Airborne Memorial Biographies
First and foremost, I would love to have a memorial bio for every 101st Airborne Paratrooper possible. To me, this is the cornerstone of this website.
The vision is to have the name, rank, unit, photos, dates served, and any military related information for the men and women who have gone on and made their final jump. This is an opportunity to preserve their individual legacies.
101st Airborne Historical Documentation
The second most important task is ensuring we capture the historical legacies of this famous airborne division, past to present.
We would like to document information regarding it's founding, leaders, innovators, battles, and service records. This would also include photos, maps, and other resources to tell the complete story of these paratroopers.
101st Airborne Photos or Videos
Nothing quite captures the history of the Screaming Eagles like photos or videos!
While there are many public domain photos provided by the Department of Defense and other organizations, I know there are thousands of personal photos and videos owned by private collectors and museums.
It would be fantastic to have a comprehensive gallery of these resources for today's enthusiasts as well as future endeavors.
101st Airborne Stories
Over the past 15 years, I've personally heard some incredible stories told by World War II Veterans and their family members. I also know many military researchers and battlefield guides have collected stories from veterans as well.
Together we can keep these stories alive by posting them on this website.
101st Airborne Resources
There are thousands of books, hundreds of movies, and other Screaming Eagles resources like t-shirts, memorabilia, battlefield tours and more!
I would like to offer book and movie reviews, a 101st Airborne store, and links to these valuable resources for our members.
An All Volunteer Army!
Ideally it would be great to pay people to help build this incredible website and resource library, but unfortunately I can't.
Right now this is a true labor of love and an all volunteer Army.
However, I can promise you this.
Anyone who contributes any material to 1o1stAirborneDivision.com will receive proper credit and attribution.
If you provide a service or product relating to the Screaming Eagles, we can add it to our upcoming store or link to it.
If you are a researcher, battlefield tour guide, or writer who makes a living from your interests, we will promote your website or link to your resources.
If you want to share personal bios, photos, or stories, you will receive a bio at the end of the page or article.
Please remember this is about something bigger than money; it's about showing our gratitude for those who served in the 101st Airborne!
And because this website could be one of the biggest and best resources for this focus, it could result in millions of people seeing what is placed here – including your resources.
